The Inglis Yankeetown Lions Club is located in Yankeetown, Florida. Yankeetown is a small town on Florida's western Gulf Coast known for it's tree lined streets, quiet lifestyle and the Withlacoochee River. Inglis Yankeetown Lions Club was chartered in 1971. Our meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month and start at 7pm. Our Club funds or sponsors projects for the betterment of our community, such as: •Eye exams and glasses for those who need help acquiring them; •Southeastern Guide Dogs; •Florida Lions Conklin Center - a training center for handicapped individuals; •North Florida Lions Eye Foundation; •Yankeetown School; •Scouting; •Other needs in the community as they arise.

CATCH, PHOTO, RELEASE Kayak Fishing Tournament

Yankeetown, Florida

The date is set for the 15th Annual Nature Coast Challenge – a Kayak Catch, Photo and Release Fishing Tournament in Yankeetown, Florida. The Nature Coast Challenge is a conservation based tournament (catch, photo, release) and is open to all anglers, weekend warriors, to tournament pros in non motorized kayaks or canoes. We encourage Junior Anglers to participate FREE of charge to encourage future anglers in the sport. All anglers must register online, even Juniors (see link below to register).

The Captains’ Meeting & Fish Fry will be Friday evening April 17, 2026, doors open at 5:30 pm for check-in. 

You can fish the Withlacoochee River or the Gulf of Mexico (Click on the “Fishable Zones” on the menu above). Fishing will start on Saturday April 18, 2026 at first light.
